Описание: A slow casual POV walking tour from Birmingham Brindleyplace to New Street Station. The walk will take in the black sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne Mural, Ozzy the Bull, The Mail Box shopping centre and some of the most beautiful parts of the Birmingham Canal including the amazing Gas street Basin.

The Mailbox originally built in the 1970s as the Royal Mail sorting office, it was redeveloped in the early 2000s into a sleek mixed-use complex, featuring Harvey Nichols and home of BBC Birmingham.

Gas Street Basin is the historic heart of Birmingham’s canal network nestled between The Mailbox and Brindleyplace, it’s where the Worcester and Birmingham Canal meets the Birmingham Canal Navigations (BCN) Main Line.

The Basin dates back to the late 18th century.
The Worcester Bar, a physical barrier between two canal companies, once required cargo to be manually transferred between boats. It was only opened in 1815 after an Act of Parliament.

Ozzy was originally known as the Raging Bull, the dramatic centrepiece of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. He symbolised the city’s industrial heritage. In July 2023, Ozzy was unveiled at his new permanent home in Birmingham New Street Station

Together, Ozzy, The Mailbox and Gas Street Basin offer a perfect reminder of Birmingham’s transformation, from industrial powerhouse to a city of culture, leisure, and innovation. If you're nearby, it's a fantastic area to explore on foot, especially at sunset when the canal lights shimmer on the water.
