In this webinar, we will discuss the findings of a recent research study conducted in the UN Women’s Second Chance Education and Vocational Learning (SCE) Programme Project sites in the East, Adamawa and Far North Regions of Cameroon.
The study explores the main harmful norms around GBV among the communities including practices of early and forced marriages, gender inequality and rigid gender roles, the denial of resources, and sexual and domestic violence.
All of this is explored as exacerbated by the Boko Haram insurgency in the Far North region, the influx of refugees from Nigeria and the Central African Republic as well as IDPs triggered by the socio-political conflict plaguing the North West and South West regions since 2016.
Based on the findings, this webinar will discuss a possible multi-stakeholder approach to prevention and interventions or management of prevailing GBV practices with negative implications on the SCE programme.
