Rally of the Tall Pines 2024 - CRC Rally Bancroft, Ontario

Описание: The Lincoln Electric Rally of the Tall Pines is known to be one of the most challenging rallies in North America. This year was no exception! The roads dried up, after a rainy Friday, and the cars took flight. Twisting, flipping and hoping around the roads around Bancroft, Ontario.

There were some big story lines leading up to the event, which evidently drew in big crowds. There was a battle for the overall Canadian Rally Championship. Canadian rally legend Antoine L'Estage made it back to the Tall Pines after taking many years off. He started the event with a slim lead in the Championship, followed closely by the back to back rally champion Jerome Mailloux and a close third was Jean-Sebastien Besner. At the end of the long and exciting day Besner leap frogged the competition and won his first Rally of the Tall Pines. Putting him into the lead with only one event left on the Canadian Rally calendar (Big White).

Besner put on a stellar ride while L'Estage and Mailloux both did not finish. L'Estage came first in the early stages before a rock took out some critical front end suspension. Mailloux went out in dramatic fashion after taking flight and getting some monster air at the end of stage 6. The hard landing damaged the Subaru and Mailloux ended up off road and off the score board. In fact two other TEST Racings cars also went out on the same stage with stunt man Marc-Andre Brisebois walking away from an intense roll over on a shape left turn after a flat out straight away. Rally fans were also excited to hear that Max McRae decided to race in Bancroft, his first appearance in Canada. 20 year old Max McRae is the nephew of rally legend Colin McRae. It was obvious that rally racing is in his blood! He put on a show by winning the two wheel drive (2WD) class and narrowly winning overall. He finished second, only 53 seconds behind the winner Besner. He was racing the Team FJ Peugeot 208 rally4 sport. He has a bright future ahead and we are lucky to see him race first hand.
