What we do with our fingers affects how stable our flute is, and how well we balance it.
Can we use our left-hand pinky to improve flute balance and stability?
(YES!)
There are lots of details to navigate in this video. I may be the cause of a few head scratches and confused looks at the screen. But if you can remember what "Open G-Sharp Key" and "Closed G-Sharp Key" mean - there is a lot of useful stuff here, too!
Nearly EVERYONE watching will have a "Closed G-Sharp Key." That means you push a lever to open a key with your left-hand fourth finger. (Remember we flutists don't give our thumb a number.) An "Open G-Sharp Key" means that you push a lever to CLOSE a key, giving you the pitch of G Natural. I know it's confusing!
Good luck! And let me know if the information is helpful by leaving a comment, subscribing to my channel, and liking this video! 👍
