This Journal Club will highlight key findings from a recent basic science research publication, which will then be followed by a clinical expert who will discuss the potential implications on patient management and disease outcomes. Our first guest speaker, Dr. Jason Gokey, basic science researcher with a focus in mechanisms of epithelial cell injury and regeneration, will present his recent publication “Epithelial Yap/Taz are required for functional alveolar regeneration following acute lung injury”, from JCI Insight. He will be followed by our second guest speaker, Dr. Sujith Cherian, a clinician with expertise in pleural diseases and ARDS to facilitate discussion on potential impact of the research findings on clinical management and outcomes.
