How do changes at synapses shape brain circuits - and how do disruptions in these processes contribute to schizophrenia? In this edition of Brain Bridge, Deepak Srivastava, professor of molecular neuroscience and head of the Neuronal Circuitry and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NCND) Group at King’s College London, will discuss his lab’s work on using cellular models to study the origins of schizophrenia. His research examines how genetic and environmental cues refine neural circuitry, how these processes break down in schizophrenia and related disorders, and how insights from stem cell–based and advanced imaging models can inform future therapeutic strategies.
