Traders affected by the recent floods have given the government a two-week deadline to compensate them for the damages incurred following the heavy rains that hit the central business district on Friday.
The traders, based in the Kampala Central Business District, say that if they have not been compensated by 25th March, they will close their shops in a major protest.
Most of the traders operate in buildings such as Qualicel, Nabukeera, and others, and have been suffering from flooding since October last year.
