India has achieved a major milestone in its fight against tuberculosis (TB)! According to the WHO Global TB Report 2025, India’s TB cases are dropping by 21% each year — nearly double the global average. TB incidence has fallen from 237 to 187 cases per lakh population, while treatment coverage has improved from 53% in 2015 to 92% in 2024. Thanks to initiatives like Ni-kshay Mitra and TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, over 26 lakh patients have received timely care, and TB mortality has reduced by 25%. This success highlights India’s growing strength in public health and disease elimination.
