Can a house really float during a flood? Yes! And it's called an Amphibious House. Unlike a houseboat, this innovative structure is permanently fixed to land, connected to the local sewer and power systems . . . but it floats only when needed.
In this video, we show how flood-adaptive architecture works using vertical guidance posts, buoyancy, and smart engineering to let the home rise safely during extreme floods . . . without being swept away.
Perfect for floodplain zones, riversides, or low-lying areas affected by climate change, this design is already being used in countries like the Netherlands.
⚠️ Note: Not recommended for storm surge or tsunami-prone zones.
