@Dean_Trips’ Dean cycles and hikes to the Figure 8 Pools in Royal National Park just south of Sydney, Australia in April 2025. Dean takes the train from downtown Sydney the Sutherland station then rides a bike into Royal National Park before getting on the Garawarra Farm Road trail to park his bike and walk on the coastal track. From the map near the Garawarra Farm Carpark, Dean thought the hike might be shorter than the walking trail right from the parking lot. He was wrong, however did discover a train connection to the Otfford Station would get you to the Cliff Track and towards the way to the Figure 8 Pools. There appears to be multiple pools but just one that looks like a figure 8. Dean walks through the Palm Jungle and makes his way to the Burning Palms Beach before following the coast over several boulder fields to get to the Figure 8 Pools. The best time to visit is at low tide. Dean is there well after low tide and it’s still nice but some waves did wash over the pools so be careful.
