Heathcote to Waterfall via Karloo Pools and Uloola Falls | Sydney

Описание: This is a pleasant 10km walk the Royal National Park just south of Sydney. A short 50min to an hour walk (2.5km) from Heathcote Station will bring you to Karloo Pool which is a beautiful natural pool. Karloo Pool is quite a popular spot for people to come and cool off in on a hot day so can get a little busy but there's plenty of room for all. The track in is very well walked and marked however can be quite uneven in places so not so suited to less able bodied people.

If you are looking for more of a walk, the next stop is Uloola falls which is another hour down the track and a further 2km. Uloola falls itself lacks a good swimming spot however slightly up river there is another beautiful set of falls with a great pool to swim in at the base. The track to Uloola falls is a similar difficulty to the track in to Karloo however it is more exposed so can get quite hot. Once at the falls the main track crosses over the top of the falls but if you walk around the right side of the falls (looking outwards from the top) you will find a steep track down to the base of the falls. Uloola falls is also a nice campground with toilets only 150m from the camp.

To continue onto Waterfall, follow the signs to the camp toilet where you will find a fire access road and from there you will follow the road all the way to Waterfall. It is 5km and will take 1.5-2 hours however it is relatively flat and quite easy walking.

Keep an eye out for wildlife because I encountered everything from bull ants, skinks, black cockatoos, lace monitors and even a brown snake so watch where you place your foot!

All in all a spectacular walk, perfect for a weekend day hike and a great way to experience the natural bush only an hour south of Sydney!
