In eight short video's working with the application Max, developed by cycling74, is introduced. This series, focussing on realtime interaction on generative sound, was created for the class 'realtime processes with MaxMSP' (rmm) for the sonology program (www.sonology.org). As in some situations it is preferable to work with Puredata, each video as an addendum that shows how the same functionality can be achieved in that application.
Interaction with the functionality that we set up in our patches through midi controllers creates for a much more dynamic experience. More complex physical gestures can be used as well, obtaining the data from the sensors of a mobile device and have them sent to max. This episode introduces such approaches and suggests some perspectives for accurate mapping.
