Day 1: 0:20
Friday/SaturdayTravel from Boston to Rome via connecting flights, and took a bus South to Pompeii. On our way, we stopped in Sperlonga. Finished the night off at Stuzzico by Lucius. Gelato at De Vivo Pasticceria. Slept at Santa Caterina(Pompei).
Day 2: 1:32
Sunday. Morning: Visited Herculaneum. Lunch in Naples. Visited the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. Had some free time in the afternoon. Dinner at Add'ù Mimi. Slept at Santa Caterina(Pompei).
Day 3: 3:22
Monday. Pompeii day! We literally crossed the street from our hotel to enter Pompeii. Lehman gave a tour, several students(and Lehman) gave their declamations, and we concluded Pompeii with a scavenger hunt. In the afternoon, we left Pompeii and drove to Paestum. Many folks did the polar plunge, one student got stung by a jellyfish. We finished the night by eating and sleeping at Hotel Mandetta(Paestum).
Day 4: 7:24
Tuesday. In the morning, we toured the three doric temples in Paestum. We began our long drive North to Rome. On the bus ride back to Rome, we stopped at a rest stop and we stocked up on snacks and ate lunch. In the early evening, we arrived in Rome. We awed at the Gesù, and ate dinner at Ginger(Pantheon), and later visited the Pantheon. We got some gelato at Giolitti before heading back to our Hotel, Domus Australia(Rome).
Day 5: 10:39
Wednesday.Breakfast at Hotel. The morning was our visit to the Roman Forum. We split up into several groups for lunch. In the afternoon, we visited the Colosseum, stopped for a little break before seeing the Basilica of San Clemente. Finished the night at Naumachia(this was most people's favorite meal of the trip), and ran a bill of $1400. Slept at the Domus Australia(Rome).
Day 6: 18:05
Thursday. Breakfast at Hotel. Last full day in Rome. We visited the Vatican this day. Took the Rome metro to Vatican City. Toured St. Peter's Basilica in the morning, toured the expansive Vatican museum, then ate lunch. Ate lunch in our separate groups. The groups reconvened at the Ara Pacis, where Mikey felt rather ill, and left for the Hospital with Alessandro. We walked to the Castel Sant'Angelo in time for sunset. Dinner at Il Ragno d'Oro and we took the bus back to Domus Australia(Rome).
Day 7: 24:13
Friday. Breakfast at Hotel. We visited the Galleria Borghese, and we had the afternoon to ourselves. Groups broke off once more, and many first went to see the Spanish Steps. We then got lunch in our mixed groups. Students had, at this time, some free time to shop. 96 Bulla got gelato for one last time. We proceeded to the Gesù once more: this time for mass in latin. Afterwards, we suffered through rain showers, and reached the top of the Capitoline hill. We made our way to the Colosseum, and were the last tourists allowed in for the day. We concluded the night by eating at Rossopomodoro. Slept at Domus Australia(Rome)
Day 8: 1:04:41
Saturday. Early morning. Took the bus to the airport, most were tired. Flew to Paris. Layover for a few hours, before flying back to Boston.
