Sometimes a little work is required to get a meal. Yellowstone winters can be a challenge, especially when the snow is deep. Most ungulates have to paw and paw and paw at the snow to uncover a little vegetation to munch on. An American Bison only has to give a couple of swings of his massive head and neck. By early evening the bison herds head off to find shelter for the cold night.
