Khamenei blames Trump for inciting Iran protests: 'We consider the US president guilty'

Описание: Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has blamed US President Donald Trump for inciting the anti-regime protests and has held him responsible for the subsequent deaths, saying: "We consider the US president guilty for the damage and for the slander he made against the Iranian nation."

"The aim of the Americans, and I am stating this clearly and unequivocally, is to swallow Iran," he said.

Iranian officials have said at least 5,000 people have been killed and more than 20,000 arrested during the demonstrations.

Trump has repeatedly threatened to intervene, including through social media posts and by threatening "very strong action" if Iran executes protesters.
