Discovering Lufthansa Premium Economy

Описание: In this video, we'll jump onboard a Lufthansa Airbus A330 together from Frankfurt, Germany through to Dubai, UAE. With Lufthansa in a period of transition, I thought it a good time to see exactly what they can offer on this long haul route...

Overall, not great. Let's start however with the positives in that for what is a seat design now slowly on it's way out, I thought it held up pretty well both in terms of comfort levels and cleanliness. The entertainment screen also was modern and was quick to respond to the touch screen inputs. As part of the entertainment screen, it was great to see the external cameras also.

Beyond that however, they're a way behind even Europe's leading players in Premium Economy and miles behind those who lead globally. The video will go into many of the greatest areas of improvement for them however in short, the lack of cabin privacy between Premium Economy and Economy was bizarre. This when twinned with a pretty basic offering on the food front and economy style headphones twinned for a pretty poor showing from them. The service throughout the flight was efficient but functional, lacking any of the usual touches you'd get with the leading carriers.

That all being said, I have high hopes for the airline into the future with their brand new designs now being implemented onto their newest aircraft - their new Premium Economy really does look superb. I do wonder however how long it'll be before it's seen across the bulk of the fleet...
