President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joined the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in its 7th anniversary where he led the ceremonial turnover and awarding of different modalities under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program to beneficiaries and stakeholders in a program at the Megawide Pre-cast Plant in Taytay, Rizal.

“Sa bisa ng Republic Act No. 11201, ang kagawarang ito ay itinatag noong ikalabing-apat ng Pebrero 2019. Siguro tama lang din na tuwing Valentine’s Day ang inyong anibersaryo dahil ang pagbibigay ng maayos na tahanan sa bawat Pilipino ay isang labor of love,” the President said in his keynote speech.

The turnover included symbolic keys for beneficiaries of the DHSUD’s Expanded 4PH vertical and horizontal housing; Certificates of Lot Award and mock cheques for recipients of the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP); and Certificates of Entitlement for beneficiaries of Presidential Proclamations.

“Ang mga tagumpay na ito ay bahagi ng ating masinsinang pagpapatupad ng programa ng pabahay. Mula Hulyo ng 2022 hanggang Enero ng 2026, tayo ay nakagawa at nakapag-finance ng higit apat na raan at dalawampu’t tatlong libong housing unit. Malayo na ang ating narating, ngunit patuloy pa rin tayong nagsisikap upang maabot ang ating target na bahay sa mga susunod pa na taon,” President Marcos Jr. stated.

Besides fast-tracking the construction of housing units to meet the Administration’s target, it is also improving mechanisms to make it easier for Filipinos to buy or rent their own homes, such as lowering interest rates on housing loans from Pag-IBIG Fund and increasing subsidies from the government.

“At hindi – hindi po kami titigil dito. Ang pagbisita natin sa precast plant na ito ay isang hakbang patungo sa pagbuo ng mga tahanan sa ating bansa, gamit ang makabagong teknolohiya. Dito po ay ating natunghayan ang isang napakahalagang proseso kung paano mas mapabilis ang produksyon ng mga housing unit,” he added.

The Chief Executive praised the DHSUD for its ongoing initiatives and programs that aim to provide decent, safe and affordable housing to all Filipinos, as reflected in this year’s anniversary theme, ‘Seven Years of Continuing Service: Celebrating Our People and Partners in Building Homes, Building Communities, and Building Happiness.’

“Sa Bagong Pilipinas, malinaw na walang pamilya ang dapat mapag-iwanan sa ating pag-unlad. Kaya patuloy na magtutulungan ang pamahalaan at pribadong sektor upang pabilisin ang produksyon, ayusin ang proseso at palawakin ang saklaw ng ating mga programa, lalo na ang Expanded 4PH Program. Bagaman lumipas na po ang Valentine’s Day, ang pag-ibig po natin sa serbisyo ay hindi magtatapos. Habang may Pilipinong nangangarap ng sariling tahanan, patuloy na kikilos ang pamahalaan upang suportahan ang pangarap na ito,” President Marcos Jr. ended in his speech.
