S1E29 On the seawall - Granville Island Seaside (Vanier Park)

Описание: Hello! Everyone! I am Pat Welcome to “On the SeaWall”.
Today, we are heading to one of Vancouver's most green spaces — Vanier Park.
The Park is in the Kitsilano neighborhood, and full with a lot scenic spot and amusement place for summer events and community center all come together. And we will pass by Burrard Civic Marian boat club too.
Vanier park was established in 1967, but its roots go much deeper. Long before it became a municipal park, it was the site of an ancestral Squamish settlement and fishing ground. This history reminds us that the land carries stories far older than the city itself, and it’s important to honor that Indigenous heritage.What makes Vanier Park truly unique is its concentration of cultural institutions:
There are two important museums are popular and attractive: The Museum of Vancouver and The Vancouver Maritime Museum, which showcases the city’s evolving identity and preserving the region’s seafaring legacy. And The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is an another interesting place where visitors can explore the mysteries of the universe with 3D and 360 degrees screen projecting cinema. They are very popular for the family come for visiting on the weekends or Summer holidays season. And all within walking distance of each other.
Beyond culture, Vanier Park offers breathtaking views. From its open fields, you can see the Burrard Bridge, the downtown skyline, and the North Shore mountains. It’s a favorite spot for picnics, kite flying, and simply enjoying the fresh ocean air. The park’s wide lawns and waterfront access make it a peaceful escape from the bustle of city life.
Vanier Park is also a gathering place. It hosts festivals, performances, and community events throughout the year. Whether it’s the annual Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival or local cultural celebrations, the park brings people together in a spirit of creativity and connection.
Vanier Park is a interesting and educated and scenic spot where is full with history, cultural institutions, natural beauty, and community spirit. It is a nice natural area to walk, to run and to chill out place when we are walking on the seawall.
