Duke Harrison-Hunter challenges us to move beyond token inclusion, sharing how true visibility begins with listening, and ends with lasting change. Duke Harrison Hunter is a multidisciplinary creative, cultural strategist, and advocate for youth voice and visibility. With roots in community organising and a passion for storytelling, Duke has spent over a decade amplifying the perspectives of young people who are often overlooked in policy, media, and education. His work bridges the gap between visibility and agency, challenging institutions to move beyond tokenism and toward genuine inclusion.
In his TEDx talk, “Very Seen, But Never Heard”, Duke explores the paradox of performative representation in how marginalised communities are frequently showcased but rarely given the power to shape narratives or decisions. Drawing from lived experience, grassroots activism, and cultural critique, Duke invites audiences to rethink what it means to listen truly and to create spaces where being seen should be just the beginning.
