Metacognitive Therapy (MCT) is a relatively new therapeutic approach which is showing great promising in its effectiveness for treating various mental disorders and challenges. Research shows that it’s particularly effective in treating anxiety and depression.
This is the fifth episode of a 10-part series of short videos, each covering a key concept, technique or strategy from Metacognitive Therapy. In this video, we look at Detached Mindfulness which, is a key concept used in MCT to help us alter our relationship with our thoughts. Detached Mindfulness can be particularly helpful in reducing overthinking, such as rumination and worrying, as we often see in anxiety and depression.
