I made it to Melbourne! After a delayed flight, a shakeout lap of The Tan (iconic 😍), and a big day at the expo + race briefing, it was time to lock in the plan: fresh Alphafly's and a Maurten Gel fuelling strategy and take it out hard.
This episode follows the full arc of race weekend:

RACE RECAP: PB 1:19:43 🎯.
Controlled start uphill, settled ~ 3:38/km to 5k.
Windy patches through Albert Park, decision time at 4k (“push or back off?”).
Ran solo, fought the rollers, legs fading late—but closed hard (last km ~3:40).
Snuck under 80 minutes inside the ‘G — a small time gain, a big step forward in execution & belief.
Post-race I spin out the legs on the bike, debrief the left-calf tightness (will get it checked), and share something special: my finished Hayden Wilde helmet artwork. We photographed it for prints and took it to a live event for Hayden to sign - my third “finished” piece after Sam Laidlow and Eliud Kipchoge. Bringing running + art together has been a dream, and I’m excited to share more of that here.
