Hey hockey player - in this video, I'm going to talk about how you can reduce anxiety before a game.
I've been getting a lot of questions on how to deal with pre-game anxiety - and the first step is to determine whether the anxiety is coming from within or from external influences.
Endogenous anxiety (internal) could mean you have a chemical imbalance within your body that truly exposes you to greater anxieties every day.
Exogenous anxiety (external) occurs to a lot of hockey athletes and this is situations happening outside of you and is resulting in pre-game anxiety.
So WHY does anyone have pre-game anxiety? Well, the biggest answer is that they are simply not prepared.
Preparation kills anxiety 10 times out of 10.
Repetition and preparation can take away anxiety.
So when and if you are experiencing pre-game anxiety, stop looking for other ways to cope and start asking yourself why do you have it.
The answer lies within your preparation...
