Today we are going to talk about Bandhas. Bandha it is special technique of yoga to keep and redirect life energy prana inside body. Word bandha means "to hold", "tighten" or "lock".
Bandhas stimulates different parts of body: organs, muscles, nerves, physical processes within body. It also positively impacts pranic and mental bodies.
There are 3 main bandhas:
1) Uddiyana bandha
2) Mula bandha
3) Jalandhara bandha
It's also possible to do 3 bandhas together - it's Maha bandha. 3 bandhas together, we call it Maha bandha.
What are benefits of bandhas:
Vitality increases.
Stimulation of internal organs, muscles, nervous system and endocrine glands.
Stimulates blood pressure and absorption.
Positive effect on digestion and excretion and many more.
