Broadcast NTSC Analog TV: It's still here.

Описание: The location that picked this up was Niagara County, New York. This was some tropospheric ducting over Lake Ontario from CIII-TV-2 in Bancroft, Ontario, Canada. The signal was received at 7:59 PM on September 13, 2021. The antenna used was the Channel Master CM-5016 mounted in an attic, almost 180° away from the transmitter’s direction.

This is one of the last remaining analog transmitters in Canada, let alone the U.S. CIII-TV-2 is broadcasting in color NTSC, but the signal is too weak to display the color portion. This is the last stage of NTSC broadcast TV before it becomes complete “fuzz”.

FYI: High Power analog stations have been off the air since 2009 in the U.S. Low power stations (excluding Alaska) have officially been off the air since July 13, 2021. This is not a station broadcasting from the U.S, but rather a Canadian station 150 miles away. Most Canadian stations in urban areas have switched to digital broadcasts but many in rural areas haven’t. This is an example of a rural broadcast. All Canadian analog stations will have to be off the air sometime in 2022.
