Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Konig Self-Tensioning Chains. These are gonna be the CG9 Snow Tire Chains, and we're gonna take a look at them right here on our 2014 Toyota Prius V. If I had my pick of any of the tire chains found here at etrailer, these are actually the ones I would go with. These are the Premium Snow Tire Chains with all of the premium features you would expect, plus they're so low-profile that they work with the Toyota Prius V. This is actually my car. I have a level-five trim, so I have slightly larger tires.

In that case, I'm very conscious about making sure I have enough clearance behind my tires. This actually works out with that. So we're gonna take a look at some of the different features, different specs, and I'll show you at the end of the video how to install them. These are diamond-pattern tire chains which means they cover a bit more of your tire compared to the traditional ladder-style tire chain. That's helpful when you have your stops on the road as well as when you need to make turns.

I know that tire chains do affect the handling of your car, but this is gonna be your best fit to have more handling. It's called CG9 because you have nine-millimeter links. So look at how small those links are. They still have that good manganese nickel alloy construction which adds to their durability and corrosion-resistance, but they're also square links, so each side adds that extra traction on the road. Square links are better for when you have ice.

Twist links are usually better for when you have snow. In our case here, it does a mix of both just because they're so low-profile. So if you are expecting snow as well as ice, we don't want something too aggressive where you're tearing up the roads. That's where these chains come in handy. That manganese nickel alloy construction is corrosion-resistance.

So if you want chains that last for a longer period of time, for multiple seasons, that's what these are for. With these tire chains, you do get bumper guards that can go on the tire chains themselves in case they may contact with the rims. In our case here, we have them outside the rims so no worries about that. They're also color-coded and coated. The color-coding helps out with figuring out what the next step is if you don't watch my video where I show how to install it. And then the coating is helpful because even if you're not wearing gloves, you're not freezing your fingers off with these chains. Where this tire chain really shines, though, is the self-tensioning system. So this has a bungee hook that attaches to the tire chain, and as you're driving around, it's adjusting with your tire. You hit those bumps, you hit the ice, you hit those rough portions in the road, your tire chain will move, and this will move with it. I have the Prius v Five. So with that trim, I have the 17-inch wheels. So my tire size is 215/50R17. If you're not sure what tire size you have, you can find it printed right on your sidewall. Using that measurement will help out with getting the correct fit, the correct tire chains for your vehicle, so use our etrailer Fit Guide for that. I also have these installed on the front wheels as per our Prius owner's manual. Now, right before I show you how to install it, let's show you how the case or the tire chains arrive. So you have this hard-shell case. I'm a huge fan of it because it's easier to store inside of your vehicle, especially with this hook and loop patch. If you do have that carpet, that hooks right in there, prevents it from sliding around as you drive around. And when you open up the case, you'll find all kinds of goodies inside. So, first, you have your tire chains, you'll get a set of two tire chains, and then you have this goodie bag. This includes plastic instructions so they don't get wet in the snow. You have your bumper guards, you have a little plastic mat, and then you get plastic gloves. I personally recommend using your old gloves instead of the plastic gloves to install these tire chains. Also, we have a extra tire chain safety install kit. That includes a rubber mat as well as some safety list just to keep you a little bit more comfortable and a little safer on the road. So my personal thoughts about these snow tire chains is, like I mentioned earlier, these are definitely my favorite. You get that self-tensioning system which just
