Established in 1989 by members of the civil society, a fraction of enlightened personnel from the government cadres and members of the academia, media and training institutions Sarhad Rural Support Programme is the largest development organisation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Besides its work in the regular districts it also works in the newly merged districts in domains: Renewable Energy, Education, Health, Infrastructure and Rural Micro Finance.
SRSP's work with the communities is not only recognised by the government of Pakistan that conferred its CEO Masood ul Mulk with Tamgha e Imtiaz but also its work in the field of energy got British Ashden Award in 2017.
