Election officials in Kenya have agreed to hold a second day of voting after a slow and disorganised start to polling in many parts of the country on Monday.
President Moi is seeking re-election for a fifth term after 19 years in office.
He was in confident mood when he cast his vote - saying it was obvious that he would win.
President Daniel arap Moi arrives to cast his vote in an election which looks set to extend his 19 years in power.
The 73-year-old says he wants just one more term in office before stepping down.
There have been widespread allegations of vote-rigging in favour of Moi.
But the president himself was scrupulous about sticking to the correct procedures when he voted at Tanbui near his rural home in central Kenya.
He was casting a ballot for his parliamentary seat, Baringo Central.
In a final campaign message, he urged voters to go to the polls Monday with 'sober
reflection that will ensure continued peace and stability for our country'.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
My ambition is to see Kenyans move forward happily. Africa is a very difficult continent because of tribal diversity and other areas which are important culturally"

Moi added that it was obvious that he would win.
And he has reason to be confident: the opposition vote is divided between 12 rival candidates.
But Moi could face the possibility of a run-off against the most successful of his dozen opponents.
After greeting supporters, President Moi returned to Nairobi to await the results.
