Are You Kidding Me? - Comparing Two Vintage GE Cassette Tape Recorders

In the 1980's and 90's many cassette tape recorder manufacturer's came out with a "kids" line of machines, probably to expand their dwindling markets. GE (General Electric) joined this trend with the model 3-5017-A which was remarkably similar in size, shape and case design to the "adult" cassette recorder made about the same time, the model 3-5016-C.
This video compares the two cassette tape recorders, one a "toy", the other probably used for "business". The questions for YouTube visitors, asked in the video, is this:
After a demonstration of the recording quality of the two cassette recorders is: Which one is the real toy? Which sounds better, and does the "toy" recorder serve an educational purpose, providing accurate and faithful recordings to teach children the sound of their own voice that might help them learn to speak well?
