Building on her performance work with iconic urban street objects: traffic lights, blue corner mailboxes, plaster reliefs of sewercaps, the Spaldeen--iAnnie now takes on the quarter fed parking meter, which at the time of this monologue was quickly disappearing in New York City, replaced by credit card and app fed computerized systems. Annie first performed this titular monologue in her solo show: "Feed Time" at Dixon Place in 2019.
She later performed this show at City Lore, directed by Marjorie LeWit. The central and guiding metaphor of the show is of a person facing a parking meter, facing the given amount of time, the act of feeding time, of paying to be alive, of the efforts of keeping life going under the Damoclean sword of acute and chronic illness.
