The second phase of Virtual Sephiroth, along with Gilgamesh VR, are the fights I always use as a warm-up when preparing for multi-round challenges, as they have a large number of attacks to parry.

The intention of this video is to show how Virtual Sephiroth’s second phase works and how to parry his attacks. You will usually never see a full cycle because you typically defeat him long before that point. However, if you are under certain restrictions, such as no materia, you might actually experience the full cycle.

Virtual Sephiroth cycles through elemental changes following this sequence: Affinity Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind. While in an elemental mode, he absorbs damage of that element and is weak to its opposing element. He uses aga spells associated with the current element.

The attack pattern is as follows:
0.- Affinity
1.- Random Attack
2.- Random Attack
3.- Merciless -aga spell
4.- Random Attack
5.- Special Element Attack
6.- Random Attack
Note: During this attack list, he will use Octaslash → Octaslash Prime depending on where the attack counter left off, since his Limit Break also follows a pattern, but this one starts counting from his First Phase. Sephiroth normally uses Octaslash every 15 attacks.

Special Element Attack list:
Infernal Flare
Great Tribulation
Keraunos
Rapture

In this demonstration, I haven't shown how to parry Infernal Flare or Keraunos because it's not worth the risk, especially if your intention is to do no damage. Keraunos is fairly easy to parry, but Infernal Flare is very unpredictable; you might get just one burst of fire, or you might get two.

In the second cycle in the video I got hit by Infernal Flare and Keraunos because I wasn't paying close attention. That can easily happen because being on the lookout to parry so many different attacks can mentally overwhelm you.
