Bhutan annually celebrates Coronation Day of Fourth Druk Gyalpo on June 2. This public holiday is one of the major holidays in Bhutan.
This was filmed On 2 June 1999, the twenty-fifth anniversary of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck's coronation. The king with Je Khenpo (The Chief Abbot of the Central Monastic Body of Bhutan) and other Khenpo’s attended a Thongdrel (Large religious image).
The Bhutanese people dancing along with The King on the national song Tashi Phabney to end the program for the day in Changlimithang Stadium (Thimphu).
