The town spread along in the banks of Thimphu was the focal point of the nation tribute to a young king whose vision had in the 25 years given its people a accomplishment material prosperity within rich spiritual heritage.

Bhutan legend claimed that the birth of a pleasant king was prophesied in detail by Terton Drukda Dorji in 17th Century.
The saint has written that the male air would be born in the year of male wood Sheep to the Bhutanese ruler. On the 11th of November 1955, this prophesy came true. Bhutan has emerged as a single political entity with the Arrival of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1616. But the Wangchuck dynasty began with the coronation of King Ugyen Wangchuck as King of Bhutan in 1907. He was followed by King Jigme Wangchuck in 1926 and then by JIgme Dorji Wangchuck in 1952. JIgme Singye was the only son of the five children born to the late majesty Jigme Dorji and his Queen Azhi Choden. Jigme Singye took over as monarch in 1972 a His official coronation took place 2 years later.
