On this episode I continue with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for??? “Bandit, keep the pedal to the medal good buddy and we’ll hold off this county-mountie as long as we can”

So Spectrum called to let me know that my wheels and batter box covers were all polished up and ready to go. Again, I can’t comment enough about the amazing job these guys do taking 40-year-old corroded and damaged aluminum and making it look better than new. If you have anything that needs polishing, I suggest you check out their website below. Once I got everything home, I proceeded to install the wheels on the hubs and mustered up enough courage to air them back up without a safety cage as Kal Tire took the air down from 90psi to 25 for “safety reasons”. The rear drives weren’t too bad as the rings are semi captured but for the fronts, I elected to use a logging chain just in case. Now that they’re all mounted, I’m one step closer to taking the truck for its 1st drive since I started this restoration.
