Stephen M. Sano directs the Stanford Chamber Chorale plus alumni of the ensemble who returned to campus for Stanford University's 2024 Alumni Reunion Homecoming Weekend in the university's alma mater, "Hail, Stanford, Hail!"
"Hail, Stanford, Hail!" was composed in 1882 by Albert W. Smith, a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford, and his wife Mary Roberts Smith, an Associate Professor of Sociology. Michael Rosewall, a doctoral student in conducting, created this arrangement in 1991 for Stanford's centennial celebrations and it has been the university's official version of the alma mater ever since.
