Описание: As you just saw, since 2008, the Tzu Chi Selangor Chapter in Malaysia has been working in partnership with the UNHCR, and the Burmese refugee community in Malaysia, to help Burmese youngsters prepare for schooling in their new environment. Over the past three years, 4 UNHCR Tzu Chi Education Centers have been established in Kuala Lumpur for this purpose, benefiting 195 Burmese students. The UN refugee agency will find suitable schools for the migrant children, once they have acquired enough cultural, linguistic and academic knowledge for mainstream education. The role that Tzu Chi volunteers play in the program is providing extracurricular activities that will help with the character-building and holistic development for the learners. The Burmese pupils have enjoyed taking excursions to the zoo, science centers, and even a bread factory. An interschool Tzu Chi sporting event has also been held, to give the refugee children a more complete schooling experience. tzuchimalaysia
