The first time I seen this engine was back in 2005 at my hometown but I wasn’t able to see it again, until December 2018 we meet again. So I went over to New Orleans to go see 745. I had so much fun seeing 745 and it put on a grand show.
745 is a MK-5 Mikado built in 1921 by the Algiers Shops of Southern Pacific in New Orleans for the Texas and New Orleans Railway. 745 is the only surviving steam locomotive built in the Louisiana.
A big thanks to Louisiana Steam Train Association and New Orleans Public Belt Railroad for making this event happen.
