Blind as a bat?
You often hear people saying that bats are blind. While many bats, particularly the insect-eating microbats, use echolocation to navigate and capture their food, all bats have vision. No bats are actually blind.
In fact the large nectar and fruit eating megabats, like Australia's flying foxes, have large eyes and better vision than humans, particularly at night when they can see three times better than us, like cats.
Some species of bats can even see ultraviolet light.

Any bats shown here in captivity are not pets, but protected wildlife in care under a rehabilitation permit. They are released when fit for life in the wild.
