I actually had to go and do a Free Mode stage to bring Zhao Yun's weapon level up to complete this stage. He was too damn weak and this is sort of a time intensive stage so he really needed a good weapon and he didn't get any new ones he could equip after I finished the first stage because the weapon drops are mostly just RNG.
Now that he's leveled, I had a fairly easy and much less frustrating time here. This map is DW3's version of Chang Ban and the goal is to rescue Liu Bei and get him to the escape point. Cao Cao is buffed up to Lu Bu levels of power here, so unless you have a strong character don't even bother fighting him. Just hold off the other enemies and clear a path for Liu Bei.
Xiahou En, on this map only, will drop a very useful sword called the Prism Sword. This is an actual weapon you can equip on characters like Cao Cao which has a low weapon level requirement and is very powerful, so I highly recommend getting it. There's even a cutscene for it.
