Here I am using my AlphaSmart Neo to capture ideas for a new piece of writing that I have been mulling over for several days. I find the AlphaSmart to be a great device for capturing notes quickly. The keyboard of the AlphaSmart is designed in such a way that your fingers move easily between keys and all you see are the words appearing on the small 4 line LED screen at the head of the keyboard.

The AlphaSmart is lightweight, attractive and an essential piece of writing kit for you.

The Pelikan fountain pen that I use today was my father's. It has a medium italic nib and he used it frequently. I have such clear memories of him sitting at the table and writing cards and letters across the year. Using this pen was a way in which he escaped from the busy life and slowed down for his handwriting in private time.

The ink I am using is the Pelikan 4001 Violet and purchased here in the UK from Cult Pens
