The S.S. Fools were a "transitional" band for some of its members and contributors. Mike Allsup, Joe Schermie and Floyd Sneed all were ex-members of Three Dog Night, who's chart success was waning. Bobby Kimball and David Paich were just beginning to form Toto and their success was to begin.
Stephen Stills (Crosby, Stills & Nash) co-wrote this opening track of their only, self-titled album. Richard Podolar was Three Dog Night's producer and was also on the S.S. Fools album.
The name S.S Fools is derived from the Three Dog Night album "Seven Separate Fools" (1972). The actual band was five members and they disbanded after their album was released.
