We can’t have fellowship with the Holy Spirit if we view Him as a force instead of a friend, a power instead of a person.

The Holy Spirit is a Person!
1. The Holy Spirit uses the personal pronoun in reference to Himself. Acts 13v2
2. Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as a person. John 16v7,8,13,14
3. The Holy Spirit’s work is to carry on the ministry of a person, the Lord Jesus Christ. John 14v16-17
4. The Holy Spirit has the three elements of personality. Romans 8v27 “the mind of the Spirit” / Acts 16v6-7 “forbidden by the Spirit…the Spirit didn't permit them” / The Holy Spirit has emotions. Ephesians 4v30 “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit.”
5. The Holy Spirit performs actions that only a person can perform.
6. The Holy Spirit has personal feelings ascribed to Him.
7. The Holy Spirit is associated with the Father and the Son who are persons. Mt. 28v19; 2 Cor. 13v14; Jn 16v14; 1 Jn 5v7
8. The Holy Spirit is a person because moral goodness is ascribed to Him. Nehemiah 9v20; Psalm 143v10

Our goal is to live our lives in such a way that what we do SEEMS GOOD TO THE HOLY SPIRIT!

1. A persistent lifestyle of disobedience breaks the Holy Spirit’s heart. Isaiah 63:10
Hebrews 10v29
2. Make a commitment to God but don’t make good on that promise breaks the Holy Spirit’s heart. Acts 5v3
3. Rejecting messengers the Holy Spirit sends, breaks His heart. Acts 7v51
4. Hardening your heart during hard times breaks the Holy Spirit’s heart. Hebrews 3v7-8,
5. If we intentionally hurt other people with our words, we break the Holy Spirit’s heart. Ephesians 4v30
6. Fearing men more than loving the Holy Spirit breaks His heart. 1 Thessalonians 5v19
7. Crediting the devil with miracles done by the power of the Holy Spirit breaks the Holy Spirit’s heart. Luke 12v10
