Описание: USS Loy (APD-56) transporting Underwater Demolition Team 4 (UDT 4) personnel off Hagushi during the invasion of Okinawa on April 1, 1945. After Loy arrived at Kerama Retto with Task Group 52.11 on March 26, she reconnoitered Hagushi, assisted the kamikaze stricken USS LSM(R)-188, and supported reconnaissance and demolition operations by UDT 4 off Hagushi, all while under sporadic air alerts and attack. On April 1, Loy transported UDT 4 personnel who reported to the Western Islands Control Unit (Task Unit 51.1.11) to assist in coordinating the landing of troops, equipment, and supplies. The footage was filmed from USS Eldorado (AGC-11), flagship of Vice Admiral Richmond K. Turner.
