Tarishing Valley – A Secret Village Under Nanga Parbat – EP:21

Описание: My journey started on 11th July from Rama Meadows, a place full of lush green beauty and breathtaking landscapes. After enjoying the views of Rama Meadows, I rode down towards Astore Bazaar, where the road to Tarishing Valley begins. Astore Bazaar is the last big stop where you can find everything you need for the journey ahead.

From Astore, the distance to Tarishing Valley is around 32 km, and the ride is both challenging and scenic. The road until Gorikot is partially built, with some paved sections and some under construction. Gorikot is a small but important town — it has the last petrol pump on this route. I also stopped there for breakfast at a local hotel named Peer Zada, and honestly, the food was simple but really tasty.

From Gorikot, two roads branch out: one leads towards Chilam & Deosai, while the other takes you towards Tarishing Valley. I took the right turn towards Tarishing, and from there, the real adventure began. The road is rough, mostly covered with stones, and quite difficult for bikers. But the beauty along the way makes it worth every struggle. On the way, you pass through several small villages, each more charming than the last, surrounded by streams, fields, and traditional wooden houses.

Finally, after a tough but rewarding ride, I reached Tarishing Valley. This valley is not only known for its cool climate all year round but also for being the gateway to Rupal Valley and Nanga Parbat’s southern face. Trashing Valley sits at an altitude of around 2,900 meters (9,500 ft), which explains why it stays cold even in summer. In winter, it is completely covered in snow.

There are plenty of guest houses and homestays in Tarishing Valley, making it easy for travelers to spend the night. From here, many trekkers head towards Rupal Basecamp to get a closer view of Nanga Parbat, but even if you stay within Trashing, the views and atmosphere are unforgettable.

Overall, my solo ride to Tarishing Valley was one of the best experiences of my journey. The combination of offroad adventure, traditional villages, and the mighty Nanga Parbat towering above makes this place truly special.
