This happened when I was about 4 or 5 years old. The Methodist Church had invited us Baptist kids to an event one Sunday night. I don't even remember the significance of the gathering, but they served Kool Aid with "ice" in it. I had never seen ice before, and I thought it was so nice that it made our drink cold.
I had a little purse which was plastic, but the bottom seams weren't sealed across. I only remember it being held together with little brads. I tried finding a picture like it, but couldn't find one. You will have to use your imagination.
I thought the ice was so nice, and I took some, wrapping it in a napkin to take home to show my mother. I am sitting on the front pew, and then I notice water is coming out of my little purse. It was at this moment that I realized ice was made from water.
For years I belittled myself, and told myself how stupid could one person be. "Now I would never talk to a child like that, why would I do it to me?"
When we were stationed in Germany, and I was telling my German friends about it, we all got the biggest belly laughs. It was so funny! And that is one of the things, my massage therapist and I laughed so hard about. Then she started divulging some things too, and it kept going until I knew I had to write about it.
Proverbs 17:22--"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones".
