Описание: This Caboose # 25256, was built by the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska in 1952. Class - CA-5, Length - 40 feet 6 inches, Weight - 55,600 pounds, Track Gauge - Standard. The term Caboose is believed to originate from the Dutch word kombuis and the German kabuse meaning “ a little room” it’s also a nautical term meaning “ a small house on deck where cooking is done” - as with a galley. The Caboose served as a rolling office and work place of the trains “ Captain” - the Conductor. Brakemen used the car whenever they were not performing other duties.
