"Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" is a collection of short stories by Pu Songling from the Qing Dynasty, mostly dealing with fox spirits, ghosts, and demons. The Complete Illustrations of Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio is a colored illustrated comic series depicting the scenarios from the stories in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio. The full set consists of about ninety volumes (scattered around the world). This particular collection includes seventeen volumes held by the Austrian National Library and one volume held by the Martin Bodmer Foundation Library in Geneva, Switzerland. This set is generally dated to the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty.

These stories were created in the 17th century, and their values and legal perspectives differ significantly from those of today.
