Crowds gathered downtown Cleveland on Friday afternoon as part of a nationwide protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, joining similar demonstrations across the country.
Protest organizers said the demonstration was meant to show support for communities they believe are being targeted and to encourage action at the local level.
"The very fact that you are here today is proof that righteous anger is a force more powerful than despair, that solidarity is more powerful than fear," one speaker said.
Demonstrators moved through public spaces holding signs and chanting as the protest continued.
"This attack has been hitting all of our marginalized and most vulnerable communities," one woman told the crowd.
