China, Turkmenistan to Make Joint Efforts in Construction of "One Belt and One Road"

Описание: China and Turkmenistan will make joint efforts in the construction of "One Belt and One Road" based on principles of joint negotiation, construction and sharing, said Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.

Xi made the remarks when meeting with visiting Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov in Beijing.

Xi expressed his thanks to Berdymukhamedov who made a special trip to China on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World's Anti-Fascist War.

Xi pointed out China and Turkmenistan are close friends and reliable partners of cooperation, and the friendly cooperation relationship of the two countries has solid political base and good foundation of public opinions, adding that he hoped the leaders of the two countries would keep close contact.

Xi said China's initiative of jointly constructing "One Belt and One Road" has got active support from Turkmenistan. The China-Middle Asia-West Asia Economic Corridor of "One Belt and One Road" will pass through Turkmenistan, and China is willing to make joint efforts with Turkmenistan to do it well based on principles of joint consultation, construction and sharing.

Xi said that China regards Turkmenistan as a long-term and stable energy strategic partner, China is willing to further push forward the energy cooperation between the two sides with Turkmenistan. China will expand the import of traditional and advantageous products from Turkmenistan, and push forward the cooperation with Turkmenistan in fields including Potash production, electricity, information technology, agriculture, finance and transportation, and enhance the exchanges in youth, education, culture and sports.

Xi said that the two countries should deepen cooperation in security, jointly fight against the "three forces" - terrorism, separatism and extremism and cross-border organized crimes. The two sides share the same stand in a series of major international and regional issues, which embodies the high level of strategic partnership of the two countries.

Berdymukhamedov said since China and Turkmenistan have established the strategic partnership, the two sides have supported each other in major issues of common concern and steadily pushed forward cooperation in fields including economy and trade, oil and gas, telecommunications, transportation, agriculture, textile, food, chemical industry, hygiene and construction. The two countries have kept close exchanges communication in education, sports and regional affairs.

Berdymukhamedov said the two countries should keep close communications and coordination as they share the same stand in many major international and regional issues.
