Next, we’ll explore how to use Copilot Chat to understand your data:

Ask natural-language questions about the workbook you have open
Summarize key trends, outliers, and drivers
Review enterprise data that’s contextually aligned to your current Excel file

Then we’ll dive into the star of the show: Agent Mode in Excel. You’ll learn how to:

Turn Copilot into an agent that can add, update, and delete rows and columns for you
Generate enriched datasets by combining existing workbook data with relevant enterprise workbooks and data sources and data from the public web.
Orchestrate multi-step tasks (like cleaning data, enriching it, and creating summary tabs) with a conversational, guided workflow

We’ll also walk through the new model-picking experience in Agent Mode, where you can choose between GPT 5.2 and Claude Opus 4.5, depending on the style of reasoning and output you need.
