Описание: Our 9 month time construction lapse of Aquaculture Gladstone. The purpose built, multi-species fish hatchery is located at Lake Awoonga and operated by Gladstone Area Water Board. Over 660,000 barramundi fingerlings have already been released into the lake. At peak, the new facility can produce more than 5 million fingerlings of Southeast-Coast Strain Barramundi, Mangrove Jack and Sea Mullet per year. By stocking multiple species they can maintain biodiversity within the Lake Awoonga ecosystem and mimic the natural breeding cycles of the fish in the Boyne River ecosystem. It will open to the public later this year.
